Special Forces Maximum Barrier Penetration Magnum

Windshields, wheel rims, even engine blocks won’t stop the Special Forces Maximum Barrier Penetration Magnum.™

The Brenneke Special Forces Maximum Barrier Penetration Magnum™ (MBPM) was developed at the request of military and law enforcement communities for a unique projectile with which to address the most demanding urban threats. It provides the deepest penetration of any Brenneke slug, extensively tested across a number of difficult real-world situations. It leaves the muzzle of any standard shotgun carrying 3,545 ft. lbs. of devastating energy. Its trajectory is extremely flat to 100 yards and beyond, capable of fiveshot groups of 1.67" at 50 yards. As the accompanying photos and test results show, the MBPM’s extremely hard, proprietary alloy readily penetrates windshields and vehicles. It will outperform any standard rifle cartridge atclose ranges. The MBPM is not for every situation. But, when maximum penetration, power, and reliability is dictated, only the MBPM will do.

Proven on FBI glass.

The MBPM fully penetrated FBI glass at 90 degrees (photo 6), retaining 83% of its original weight. It fully penetrated FBI glass at a 45 degree angle/15 degree offset (photo 7), continuing on through 31 inches of FBI-spec ballistic gelatin, retaining over 94% of its original weight.

Proven on body armor.

Testing by a major U.S. law enforcement agency demonstrated full penetration of Second Chance SC229 Level IIIA body armor—plus an additional three inches into ballistic clay—at a distance of eight yards (photo 8) while retaining 83.8% of its original weight. At 21 yards (photo 9), the MBPM penetrated 14 plies plus 3" back formation and remained intact, retaining 89.04% of its original weight. A competitor’s one-ounce Foster slug did not penetrate at all.

Proven on steel.

In a standard German Police penetration test, the MBPM penetrated fifteen 1mm ST4 metal plates with 20mm gaps. A 9x9 FMJ bullet could manage only four.

Proven on brakes.

Below, the MBPM penetration of a double-layer disk brake; entry at left, exit at right. Please note: The Brenneke Maximum Barrier Penetration Magnum is intended exclusively for professional use. Its deep penetration makes it unsuitable and potentially dangerous for hunting and general shooting.
